A recent incident has left a California couple devastated, as video footage revealed the horrifying moment a nanny allegedly abused their two-day-old baby.

What was meant to be a time of joy for the family quickly turned into a nightmare when they discovered that the nanny, someone they had trusted to care for their newborn, had acted violently.

The Disturbing Discovery

The parents, referred to as ‘D’ and ‘T,’ were heartbroken after reviewing baby monitor footage that showed their precious daughter, ‘Baby H,’ being shaken, struck, and thrown across the room.

The parents had hired the nanny just hours after bringing their newborn home from the hospital, believing they had chosen someone they could rely on.

However, the footage revealed the extent of the abuse, which was too graphic to be publicly shared.

“It’s definitely horrifying for any parent and family to go through,” said the father in an interview with ABC7.

“We all thought we could trust her. Never imagined something like this could happen,” he added.

A Disturbing Case

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe emphasized the severity of the case, noting that the victim’s age made it particularly alarming.

“What struck me overwhelmingly as soon as I read the case was the age of the victim. That’s what’s so unusual for us,” he said.

Wagstaffe warned that if the nanny is convicted, she could face significant prison time.

“If we can convict them, for me, prison is the only answer for someone who would do something such as this repeatedly,” he stated.

“If the evidence supports it, this person would be going to prison for double-digit years, easily.”

The Nanny’s Background

The nanny, who has not been identified or charged as of yet, was hired through a reference on social media.

The parents mentioned that, based on their initial phone conversation, the nanny seemed “legit” and appeared to be a good fit.

“From the phone call we had with her, it sounded very legit, and she seemed like a good nanny,” the father recalled.

However, after noticing some aggressive behavior, they decided to terminate her services.

It wasn’t until they reviewed the footage that the full scale of the abuse became apparent.

A Parent’s Guilt and a Warning to Others

The parents are now grappling with feelings of guilt, despite doing what they thought was best for their child.

“Of course we feel guilty as parents,” the father admitted.

His wife added, “My goal is to warn parents about this nanny. I don’t want any family, baby, or mom to experience this again.”

The couple hopes that by sharing their story, they can prevent other families from suffering a similar betrayal.
