BURIAL: Egbunike, Police DIG Who Investigated DCP Kyari, Laid To Rest In Anambra

According to information received by Kossyderrickent, Joseph Egbunike, deputy inspector-general of police in charge of the force’s criminal investigations division, has been laid to rest.

 

 

 

Egbunike died in March at the National Hospital in Abuja after being diagnosed with food poisoning.

 

Prior to his death, Egbunike was the head of the IGP-appointed panel to probe the FBI charges against suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari (DCP).

The force announced in a tweet on Saturday that the late officer was buried in his hometown of Onitsha, Anambra state.

“Today, I joined his family, friends, and the wonderful people of Onitsha to pay fitting tribute to a great Son whose life had a profound influence on mankind.”

“Dr. Egbunike was a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Department of Force CID, till his death.”

“I beg to God Almighty to give his family and Anambra the strength to suffer this devastating loss.” May his spirit find eternal rest in the Lord’s bosom! Amen.
