Breaking: ‘Make a Girl’ Anime Movie: Genshou Yasuda Takes Center Stage

With a captivating trailer and two key visuals making their debut, ‘Make a Girl’ anime movie is stirring up anticipation among anime enthusiasts. The creative force behind the project, Genshou Yasuda, is wearing multiple hats – not only as the original creator but also as the director, storyboard artist, scriptwriter, and CG director of the film. The animation for the film is being done by Yasuda Gensho Studio, in association with Xenotoon, and Kadokawa is overseeing the production.

Unveiling the Main Cast

Voicing the characters of this intriguing tale are Shun Horie and Atsumi Tanezaki. Horie lends his voice to the character of Akira Mizutame, the protagonist who embarks on the journey of creating an artificial girlfriend. Tanezaki voices the character of No. 0, the artificial girlfriend created by Akira.

A Journey from CG Animation to Independent Filmmaking

Known for his works in CG animation, Genshou Yasuda has made a significant leap with ‘Make a Girl.’ This ambitious venture began after he launched his studio in 2021. Despite the challenges, Yasuda has managed to navigate the waters of independent filmmaking successfully, presenting his first anime movie to the public.

Exploring the Narrative of ‘Make a Girl’

The narrative of ‘Make a Girl’ revolves around Akira Mizutame who, after achieving success with a robot invention, attempts to create an artificial girlfriend named No. 0. This female android is programmed to have romantic feelings for Akira. However, as her programming evolves, No. 0 begins to question the authenticity of her emotions. This thought-provoking storyline provokes viewers to ponder upon the blurred lines between artificial intelligence and genuine human emotions.

The music for the film is composed by Kenichiro Suehiro, with Yuuichi Imaizumi as the sound director and Rei Ueno taking care of sound effects. Prior to ‘Make a Girl,’ Yasuda had taken to social media to release short anime clips. He also released longer feature films in 2020, making this new venture an exciting addition to his portfolio.
