The jaw-dropping scene, captured by the plethora of news cameras and film crews, captured the moment where Advocate Dan Teffo was surrounded by SAPS officers, and eventually whisked out of the courtroom

The moment of high drama has been compared to something out of a Hollywood script. Teffo, who has been active throughout the Senzo Meyiwa trial, has now inadvertently found himself as the biggest talking point of the day.

We are still trying to piece together why this bizarre altercation took place. Another lawyer in the courtroom stated that the decision to apprehend Teffo in this particular fashion was ‘done in the wrong place, at the wrong time’.

We understand that the advocate himself was meant to appear in another court case, where HE was the defendant. Teffo failed to show-up, given his scheduling conflict, and the long-arm of the law immediately made a reach for him.

While fully robed, and still with his papers to hand, Teffo was handcuffed and restrained by officers. He says that he was not read his rights, and at the time of his detention, it’s claimed that the reason for his arrest was not disclosed.
