A male model from Brazil has been arrested for running over and murdering a 16-year-old child.

According to authorities, Bruno Krupp, 25, was riding his motorbike at an excessive speed and without a license when he collided with Joo Cardim in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday night.

Cardim was awake when he was taken to the Lourenco Jorge Municipal Hospital, where he died shortly after.

Krupp was brought to the same hospital for abrasion treatment and was released on Sunday. The social media personality was transferred to another hospital for further treatment and was arrested on Wednesday after a court issued an arrest warrant on a murder allegation.

Failure to capture Krupp, according to Judge Maria Isabel Pena Pierant, “would endanger public order, being the necessary constraint to avoid the commission of crimes of the same sort, and it can be claimed that the measure also intends to safeguard society from conduct that he may practice.”

Krupp is set to have clavicle surgery, according to TV Globo.

Krupp was apparently speeding at over 90 mph when he collided with Cardim, who had just left a birthday celebration with his mother, Mariana Cardim, and was taking for a brief walk on the beach before returning to their home.

Surveillance cameras saw Krupp speeding along Lcio Costa Avenue in the Barra de Tijuca area before collapsing on Joo Cardim.

Bystanders at nearby sidewalk restaurant tables were startled and raced down the street to the scene of the tragedy.

The accident impact removed a portion of Cardim’s left leg, which was discovered some 165 feet distant on a grass lawn near to the beach entrance.

Brazilian model Bruno Krupp with his ex-girlfriend and social media influencer, Sarah PoncioKrupp was notorious for speeding on his motorbike on weekends, according to a kiosk worker, according to the Brazilian news site G1.

Just three days before the fatal accident, Krupp was pulled over and called by police for riding his motorbike without a license.

There were no license plates on the bike either.
