“Legendary Dutch coach Ruud Krol has been offered to Orlando Pirates, a team with whom he has already enjoyed considerable success,” the site reported in their most recent issue.
“Sources close to the coach’s dealings in South Africa have informed the crew that the 73-year-old would be open to taking up the reigns at Pirates if the opportunity presented itself once again,” the report added.
While Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids appear to be settling in as co-coaches for Orlando Pirates, the club has been linked with a number of coaches, including Benni McCarthy.
It would be strange to restart all over again if the club keeps Ncikazi and Davids when a larger name coach like Krol or McCarthy surprise arrives next season to work with the duo.
If Krol or McCarthy joins the Bucs next season, it will be the team’s 11th coach in 11 years.
Rhulani Mokwena, Josef Zinnbauer, and the current combo of Ncikazi and Davids have all left the club in the last three years.
Here are the changes from 2012 to 2022, based on a ten-year cycle.
