Authorities Identify Richard Woods as the Skoda Driver Who Died in the Fatal M6 Collision That Also Claimed Four Lives from Glasgow

A devastating accident on the M6 has left a community in mourning after multiple fatalities were confirmed.

The tragedy unfolded on October 15 when a Skoda traveling southbound on the wrong side of the northbound carriageway collided head-on with a Toyota.

Among the victims was 40-year-old Richard Woods from Cambridgeshire, who was identified as the driver of the Skoda.

Details of the Incident

Cumbria police reported receiving numerous alerts about the errant Skoda before the crash occurred at approximately 4:04 PM.

Emergency services were dispatched, but the situation escalated when reports came in detailing the head-on collision.

Sadly, Richard Woods did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesperson confirmed his identity, saying, “The driver has been formally identified as Richard Woods, aged 40, from Cambridgeshire.”

Remembering the Victims

The crash also claimed the lives of four family members from Glasgow, drawing heartfelt tributes from their loved ones.

Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, his sons Filip, 15, and Dominic, 7, along with family friend Jade McEnroe, 33, all tragically perished in the accident.

Filip and Dominic’s mother, Kamila, expressed her grief, stating, “We are heartbroken at the passing of our beloved angels—Filip and Dominic.”

She shared fond memories of her sons, describing Filip as “intelligent, sensitive, and full of love,” while Dominic was known for his caring nature and passion for dinosaurs and penguins.

Impact on Families

Jade McEnroe’s family also paid tribute, highlighting the love and affection they had for her.

“Our beloved daughter Jade, you are so loved, and we will miss you every day,” they said, remembering her as a devoted mother to her son, Arran.

Arran, aged 7, was seriously injured in the crash and has since been airlifted to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where he is currently receiving treatment.

A Community in Mourning

In a touching tribute, Thomas Heier, the chief executive of Wagamama, honored Jaroslaw Rossa, who was known for his work at the restaurant in Glasgow’s Silverburn shopping center.

Mr. Heier reflected on Rossa’s warmth and dedication, stating, “His kindness is a characteristic that will stay with the team long after his passing.”

He extended his heartfelt condolences to Rossa’s family, emphasizing the lasting impact Rossa had on his colleagues and customers.
