As winter approaches, UK will see temperatures as low as -2C

As winter begins to set in, the UK is about to experience an Arctic blast as some places experience temperatures as low as -2C on Monday.

Following the conclusion of the unheard-of summer scorching, Britons will experience the coldest temperatures this season.

The Met Office has issued a warning that Monday night’s lows in rural areas will drop to -2C, and that Northern Scotland may even see some snow at the start of next week.

According to the weather service, the atmosphere would start to have an autumnal feel, and temperatures would even drop below normal for the season.

In the UK, temperatures will remain below normal during the second part of the weekend, into Monday, as well as Tuesday, according to Met Office forecaster Aidan McGivern.

With a hint of frost in the North and frigid winds, it will undoubtedly seem cold at first.

Tyndrum, Scotland, had a temperature dip of -0.2C last night, and it may be as cold as -4C next week.

The season’s lowest temperature up to this point was 1.7C on September 17 at Shap, Cumbria.

“A cold front approaching in from the north will bring rain and severe winds later tomorrow and overnight into Monday,” said senior Met Office meteorologist Alexander Burkill.

The weather will seem more fall this week because chilly, northern air will be creeping in behind it.

The majority of the country will have somewhat below-average temperatures for the time of year, with highs in the mid-teens Celsius, but some colder regions in the north may only reach the single digits.

The coldest weather is expected to occur Monday night into Tuesday, when prone rural areas may expect lows of approximately -2C.

After that, temperatures will gradually climb, but the strong winds and occasional rains will make it seem more like October than it has lately.

However, London and other parts of the UK will maintain a more temperate 15C.

Later in the week, the weather will turn drier and sunnier, according to the Met Office, although there will still be showers throughout the nation.

At the conclusion of this time, there may be a transition to calmer weather. After starting off fairly chilly, the temperature has been moving near to or just above normal.

Low temperatures overnight won’t be much cooler; rather, I anticipate Monday night through Tuesday night to be chilly at -2C, and it may even be the coldest night of the year so far.
