After a rollercoaster season at Tottenham, Ange Postecoglou isn’t short on job offers — and it looks like he could be swapping England for California before long.
A Sudden Exit After European Glory
It might’ve surprised a few Spurs fans, but even lifting the Europa League trophy wasn’t enough to save Postecoglou’s job.
Not long after their win over Manchester United in the final, Tottenham made the call to part ways with the Australian manager.
The reason? A dismal league campaign that saw the team finish 17th in the table — a shocker considering the talent in their squad.
Spurs Turn to Thomas Frank
Once the decision was made, Tottenham wasted no time.
Brentford’s Thomas Frank quickly emerged as their top target, and with Postecoglou out, the club looked to reset with fresh leadership and a new approach.
LAFC Eyeing a Fresh Start
But Postecoglou might not be out of work for long.
Over in the States, Major League Soccer side LAFC are reportedly keeping close tabs on him.
According to the BBC, the club is seriously considering bringing him in to replace current manager Steve Cherundolo.
Cherundolo, a former Hannover player in the Bundesliga, is expected to step down once the current MLS season wraps up in October.
For now, LAFC are sitting comfortably in the playoff zone, but they’re planning ahead for what comes next.
Club World Cup Experience and What’s Ahead
LAFC recently took part in the FIFA Club World Cup, putting up a fight with a draw against Flamengo but suffering losses to Chelsea and ES Tunis.
The tournament experience may have highlighted the need for a fresh tactical mind — and Postecoglou fits the bill.
More Than One Option on the Table
And it’s not just LAFC with eyes on the Aussie coach. Postecoglou has also been linked with a potential move to Saudi Arabia, with reports naming Al-Ahli as another interested club.
The demand for his services proves that despite his Tottenham exit, his reputation in global football is still strong.
