All ears: Mike Tyson launches ear-shape edibles called ‘Mike Bites’ [watch]

With the unveiling of his new marijuana sweets in the shape of an ear, Mike Tyson has turned his infamous boxing scandal into a marketing gimmick.

The former boxer, who famously bit opponent Evander Holyfield’s ear off during a 1997 WBA Heavyweight Championship battle, has released the cannabis-infused sweets to widespread acclaim.

The former heavyweight champion’s sweets, dubbed “Mike Bites” by his cannabis company Tyson 2.0, were unveiled this week.

“These ears actually taste good!”  he tweeted about his new product.

Playing on his opponent’s name, the company tweeted :”Holy ears! They’re finally here”.

Tyson’s company has launched several cannabis-related ventures in recent years. In 2021, the company expanded the sale of its products to over 100 new stores in the US.

Mike Tyson is no stranger to hallucinogens. The 55-year-old father of seven once credited the venom from a Sonoran Desert Toad for helping him destress and lose almost 50kgs.

When it comes to marijuana, Tyson revealed in 2019 that he spends a whopping $40 000 (R594 000) a month on the drug.

The star athlete also owns a 40-acre cannabis ranch, which he opened in 2018 after California legalized recreational marijuana.
