Pirates overcame Tanzanian side Simba SC in dramatic fashion, winning 4-3 on penalties after the two legs ended 1-1.

Now, they have booked an enticing semi final against Al Ahli Tripoli… so, just who are the Bucs opponents?

AL AHLI: ORLANDO PIRATES CAF CONFEDERATION CUP OPPONENTS

First things first, although they have the same name as Mosimane’s side, there is no relation between the two side’s.

Al Ahli are the most successful Libyan side in history, according to DailySun. This means they are no small side – given the fact that they reached this stage they are certainly worthy opponents.

This will be the Buccaneers third time in the semi finals of this tournament.

It is the first time that Al Ahli Tripoli have reached this stage so their whole nation will be strongly behind them. Meaning, Pirates will have to work hard to draw or win the tie away from home. Their home match is vital if Mandla NciKazi and Fadlu Davids want to represent South Africa in the final.
