A 29-year-old man was stabbed to death in the roadway of a lush cul-de-sac in a city suburb, prompting police to search for a knifeman.

Friday about 11 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to the Handsworth Wood neighborhood of Birmingham.

Tragically, despite the heroic efforts of the paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the spot.

A manhunt has been initiated for the murderer, and the location remains cordoned off while forensic exams are conducted.

West Midlands Police stated that additional officers will be patrolling the area over the next three days while house-to-house inquiries are conducted.

Detective Inspector Jim Mahon from the force’s homicide section stated, “We are in the very early stages of our investigation, and we are encouraging anyone with information who has not yet come forward to do so.”

After hearing the tragic news, the victim’s family has been informed and professional family liaison officers will be with them.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the police via Live Chat on their website or by dialing 101 and providing the log number 4527 for October 21.
