Last night (Friday), Reaction Officers and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) retrieved an abandoned white Toyota Corolla that had been hijacked in the Canelands, KZN.

At around 20:46, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call for help. The caller alerted the on-duty controller that the victims had been abandoned near a bridge on New Glasgow Road in Canelands, KZN.

Officers were despatched quickly and met with the pair upon their arrival. They said that they were on their way to their home in Hazelmere. When a black Mercedes Benz obstructed their course of travel owing to flood-damaged roads, they were forced to slow down. Three armed individuals confronted and pushed the victims out of their car.

The victim, a female, was pistol-whipped. The hijackers rushed away from Cottonlands in both cars.

Officers from the Reaction Unit and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) set out to find the car that had been discovered abandoned on Vincent.
