A non-governmental organization In Adamawa State gives a public speech on community resilience.

A public presentation on the impact and outcome of the effort to promote community resilience and social cohesion in Adamawa state was organized by a non-governmental organization named  Community Reach Out and Poverty Alleviation Initiative CRI Yola in conjunction with the European Union.

In a welcoming statement, Abubakar Buba, executive director of CRI Yola, praised stakeholders’ perseverance and efforts in attaining the project’s goal of building civil-military and police relations in the Girei, Maiha, Mubi, Michika, and Madagali local government areas.

The European Union Managing Conflicts in Nigeria Adamawa State Lead, Abdulkadiri Bello Ahmed, claimed t the initiative has substantially aided the management of conflicts in Adamawa state through security personnel training and retraining.

Alhaji Sulaiman Usman, the chairman of the event and the state’s permanent secretary for security, praised the organizers and urged them to carry ot the intervention in other parts of the state.

According to him, the state administration has integrated DPS into the state’s security infrastructure.

He also urged farmers, herders, and fishers to adopt a dialogue-based approach to conflict resolution.

Abubakar Buba of CRI Yola mentioned some of the situations that were addressed as a result of the intervention in the areas where they served when reporting the project’s results.

Goodwill greetings from representatives of the commissioner of police, the minister of women’s affairs, and community leaders were a highlight of the occasion.
