Soludo Bans Illegal Revenue Collection, Touting

Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo says his administration will no longer tolerate touting in the state.

Governor Soludo made this known when he paid a working visit to main market, Onitsha.

Government House Correspondent, Ejike Abana was there and  reports that Governor Soludo explained that a channel would be created for task payers to pay in their taxes and levies directly into the coffers of the government, adding that the state government would set up a special task force that will look into the issue of tax collection and touting, urging marketers, shop owners and transporters to desist from giving cash to illegal tax collectors.

He maintained that his administration is ready to train and empower those who are currently involved in touting across the state.

The Governor also visited some schools in Okpoko, Ogbaru Council Area, where he promised to rehabilitate the buildings, equip their laboratories and libraries for better service delivery.

Some of the students interviewed, who recounted their challenges to include lack of teachers especially in major subjects, pleaded with the Governor to fulfill his contract with students.

Earlier, Professor Chukwuma Soludo pledged to foot the bill of a woman with eye problem that came calling on him.
