Arsenal fans have plenty to celebrate as Bukayo Saka has reportedly agreed to a new, improved five-year contract with the club.
The 24-year-old will now remain in north London until 2031, extending well beyond his previous deal, which was set to run until 2027, according to The Athletic.
The new terms are believed to reflect Saka’s status as one of the Premier League’s standout talents, with recognition not just at the domestic level but across Europe.
While exact figures haven’t been revealed, his prior deal was thought to pay him around £200,000 per week, giving a sense of the kind of reward he might now be enjoying.
Arsenal Stars Staying Put
Saka isn’t the only Gunners star to commit long-term recently.
William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all signed new deals in recent months, signaling Arsenal’s ambition to retain their top talent.
While the club hasn’t officially confirmed Saka’s extension yet, an announcement is expected soon.
Personal Milestones Off the Pitch
It’s been a big season personally for Saka too. In November, he confirmed his engagement to long-term girlfriend Tolami Benson after proposing on a romantic date at a luxury London hotel. Benson, a senior planning executive, has been dating Saka since around 2020, with the couple generally keeping their relationship private.
A Signal to Europe
Saka’s decision to stay sends a clear message to any top European clubs: he’s committed to Arsenal and believes the club can compete at the highest level.
Without this extension, he would have been just a year away from the possibility of leaving on a free transfer, making this move particularly significant for both player and club.
From Hale End to Club Icon
Saka’s journey with Arsenal began at Hale End academy when he was just seven years old.
He made his first-team debut at 17 and has since racked up 294 appearances across all competitions.
While injuries have occasionally interrupted his availability—most notably a hamstring injury between December and March last season—he has remained a pivotal figure for the club.
Star Performance This Season
This season, Saka has already contributed seven goals and six assists, helping Arsenal lead the Premier League and navigate the Champions League group stage.
Back in October, he became the seventh-youngest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goal contributions, and he now sits joint-fifth in Arsenal’s history for Premier League goal involvements alongside Theo Walcott.
What’s Next for Saka and Arsenal?
With his future secured and personal life on the up, all eyes will now be on how Saka continues to shape Arsenal’s season.
The club clearly sees him as central to their ambitions, and fans will be hoping that this long-term deal translates into silverware for the Gunners in the coming years.
