The BBC has barely wrapped up its chatter about Nigel Farage’s supposed childhood antics when another peculiar tale has started doing the rounds.
This time, the spotlight isn’t on something he said — but on what may have been brushed onto his face in a studio chair.
A Bizarre Claim From Behind the Scenes
Historian and author Lisa Hilton, who has fronted documentaries for the broadcaster, dropped quite the eyebrow-raiser in The Critic.
She says a seasoned morning-show insider told her that Farage’s makeup sessions allegedly involved brushes loaded with very unwelcome, very “natural” substances.
She didn’t drop any names, but she hinted heavily: perhaps the Reform UK leader should consider doing his own makeup because the tools used on him may have been laced with everything from saliva to other bodily fluids.
Farage, unsurprisingly, isn’t offering any comment.
And given his long-standing view that the BBC leans left and leans Remain, he may not be shocked by the suggestion of pettiness.
Farage’s Battle With the Broadcaster
This isn’t Farage’s first skirmish with the corporation.
He swore off the BBC last year after being branded racist by some audience members during a Question Time election special.
He accused the broadcaster of behaving like a political player and doubled down on Reform UK’s goal to scrap the TV licence fee altogether.
And only days ago, he was forced to deny claims that he racially abused classmates at Dulwich College back in the 1970s.
As for the makeup controversy, the BBC has wisely kept its lips zipped — though insiders insist the whole story is complete fiction.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor Brings Playfulness to a Church Concert
A Pop Hit Gets a Cheeky Nativity Twist
Sophie Ellis-Bextor may not be a Sunday regular, but she was perfectly angelic during her performance at St James’s Church in Piccadilly.
She was part of the Fayre of St James’s charity event, raising money for the Firefly Project, and decided to tweak the lyrics to her famous hit Murder On The Dancefloor.
She joked to the audience that she didn’t even write the line “DJ, gonna burn this goddamn house right down,” and suggested she could’ve swapped “Murder on the dancefloor” for the far more festive “Manger on the dancefloor.”
A Last-Minute Line-Up Switch
There was another curveball in the programme: Isla Fisher had to pull out, leaving her spot to Emily In Paris star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
She took it in stride, quipping that instead of the expected Australian, the crowd was getting a Frenchwoman instead. Très chic.
Harry Enfield’s Unexpected Encounters on Tour
The 80s Characters Live On

But while fans may be nostalgic, Enfield recently shared that not all interactions go as expected.
One man greeted him by saying he used to enjoy his work but assumed he’d died.
Enfield’s polite correction didn’t go down well — the man snapped back, “Don’t get clever.”
Sir Tony Robinson Opens Up About Age and Marriage
A Candid Confession From ‘Baldrick’
Sir Tony Robinson once insisted that the 35-year age gap between him and his wife Louise Hobbs wouldn’t cause any tension.
Years on, he admits there’s one reality he can’t ignore: his sex drive isn’t what it used to be.
He reflected on it during the Spooning With Mark Wogan podcast, saying he’s had wonderful relationships but age brings its own shifts.
Robinson’s known for a colourful romantic past — two previous marriages, a long-term partnership, and a once-declared belief that marriage was “a nonsense” — before tying the knot with Louise in 2011.
Perhaps Baldrick finally needs that cunning plan after all.
Kate Winslet’s Son Was Nervous About Letting Her Direct His Film
A Family Collaboration Almost Didn’t Happen
Joe Anders — formerly Joe Mendes — may have written the script for Goodbye June as part of a film school assignment, but he never expected it to become a star-filled Christmas movie directed by his own mother.
The 21-year-old says he was reluctant to let Kate Winslet anywhere near the project at first, insisting she didn’t need to get involved out of maternal obligation.
But she fell in love with the script, and the result stars heavyweights like Timothy Spall and Helen Mirren.
Kate joked that the only reason people might question the project is if the script had been terrible — which, she made clear, it wasn’t.
