Donald Trump lashes out at New York Times reporter Katie Rogers for writing about his health and energy levels in Washington

Donald Trump has once again attacked the press, this time targeting a female reporter from The New York Times after a story questioned his stamina and public appearances in his second term.

The 79-year-old former president didn’t hold back in his response on Truth Social, calling the journalist and her outlet “creepy” and criticizing the piece as a deliberate hit job.

The Story That Sparked the Outburst

Reporter Katie Rogers co-wrote an article highlighting how Trump has scaled back public engagements compared to his first stint in the White House.

The story also explored circulating rumors about his health and energy levels — a topic that Trump clearly found infuriating.

For Trump, this was more than just reporting; he framed it as a personal attack.

A Social Media Tirade

Early Wednesday, Trump posted a lengthy statement on Truth Social.

He described the New York Times as “The Creeps at the Failing New York Times” and labeled the publication “radical left lunatics” and a “cheap RAG” that is “truly an enemy of the people.”

He singled out Katie Rogers by name, calling her a “third rate reporter who is ugly, both inside and out,” and claimed she was assigned only to write negative pieces about him.

Defending His Energy and Health

Despite the criticism, Trump acknowledged that aging eventually brings reduced energy but insisted it is not the case for him — at least not yet.

He pointed to a recent physical exam and a cognitive test, which he says he “aced,” as proof that he is in excellent condition.

“There will be a day when I run low on Energy, it happens to everyone, but with a PERFECT PHYSICAL EXAM AND A COMPREHENSIVE COGNITIVE TEST JUST RECENTLY TAKEN, it certainly is not now!” he wrote, signing off with a patriotic flourish.

A Continuing Story

The exchange is part of an ongoing pattern of clashes between Trump and mainstream media outlets.

While the former president’s supporters often echo his criticism of news coverage, media organizations maintain their reporting on public figures, including health and performance, is factual and newsworthy.

This story is still developing as both sides continue to respond.
