Dave Chappelle delivers a thought-provoking monologue addressing Donald Trump and world issues on Saturday Night Live in New York City

Dave Chappelle was back on Saturday Night Live with his signature mix of humor and thought-provoking commentary.

During his 17-minute monologue, the 51-year-old comedian tackled everything from wildfires in Los Angeles to political tensions in the Middle East and even addressed former President Donald Trump.

A Message to Trump and the Nation

Chappelle opened with a cheeky remark, saying the only reason he agreed to host SNL again was to recycle his old Trump jokes.

As he sat on a stool, cigarette in hand, he shifted to a more serious note about leadership.

Reflecting on the late President Jimmy Carter’s visit to Palestine, Chappelle praised Carter’s humanity and urged Trump and America to do better.

“Whether people voted for you or not, they’re all counting on you,” he said, addressing Trump. “Good luck.

Do better next time. Please, all of us, do better next time.”

He ended with a powerful plea: “Don’t forget your humanity.

Have empathy for displaced people—whether they’re in the Palisades or Palestine.”

Laughing Through the Flames

Chappelle didn’t shy away from making jokes about serious topics, including the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

He quipped that the moment he agreed to host the show, “LA burst into flames,” and poked fun at online commenters who seemed to revel in celebrities losing their homes.

“They can’t see past their own pain,” he joked, before adding that LA’s wildfires are the most expensive natural disaster in U.S. history because “people in LA have nice stuff.”

Observations on Ohio and Haitian Migrants

Living in Ohio, Chappelle turned his focus to local controversies, particularly around Haitian migrants in a nearby town.

Mocking Trump’s inflammatory remarks, he shared how he spent time at a Haitian restaurant to show support.

“To be honest, I don’t know what that meat was,” he said with a grin.

“But whatever it was, it fell right off the bone.”

Jabs at Hollywood Scandals

Chappelle couldn’t resist addressing Sean “Diddy” Combs’ recent legal troubles, noting that Diddy’s RICO charges were like nothing he’d ever seen.

Joking about not being invited to Hollywood’s infamous parties, Chappelle concluded it was because he has “snitch energy.”

Balancing Humor and Controversy

Though Chappelle has largely stayed out of the limelight recently, his jokes often stir heated debate.

In 2023, he faced backlash for comments on Israel and Palestine, and earlier this year, comedian Michelle Buteau criticized him for profiting from controversial transgender jokes.

Despite the polarizing opinions about him, Chappelle’s appearance on SNL reminded audiences why he’s a cultural force, blending sharp wit with raw honesty.
