Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the once-celebrated couple, have officially ended their marriage.
The split, which seemed to be a mutual decision, marks the conclusion of their two-year union.
The divorce was finalized in Los Angeles Superior Court on January 6, 2025.
The End of Their Relationship
After a whirlwind romance that led to their marriage in July 2022, Jennifer and Ben’s relationship came to a close in August 2024 when Lopez filed for divorce.
She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind the decision.
Despite the emotional weight of the breakup, the couple reached a separation agreement that seemed to be free from any animosity.
Court documents revealed that the couple, who didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding, will finalize their divorce on February 20, 2025.
Both stars will retain the wealth they earned individually during their marriage, and there will be no spousal support involved.
Additionally, Lopez will return to her maiden name following the dissolution of their marriage.
Inside Their Marriage and Family Life
Jennifer and Ben’s marriage was a quick journey from their reconnected love story to their Las Vegas wedding in 2022.
While their romance seemed to bloom, their marriage ultimately ended in 2024, with the couple separating in April of that year.
They had a blended family dynamic, with Ben Affleck bringing three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner—Violet (18), Seraphina (15), and Samuel (12).
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez shares twins, Max and Emme, 16, with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.
Jennifer’s Heartfelt Words in Their Final Year Together
In August 2023, Lopez shared a nostalgic post on their anniversary, writing an emotional message dedicated to Ben.
She expressed how grateful and overwhelmed she felt, noting how their journey together made her reflect on life, love, and the path they had taken.
