9mobile has partnered with the Education Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to organise a nationwide essay competition for senior secondary school students, commencing in Abuja.
9mobile’s Executive Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs, Abdulrahman Ado, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to the nation’s education sector.
The Executive Director, who was represented by Public Relations Lead Chineze Amanfo, remarked that the company recognises that youngsters are the foundation of change and that it is crucial to assist them in fostering values that encourage environmental sustainability.
The competition is exclusively open to senior students in secondary schools in Abuja this year, he stated.
Ado added that 9mobile has created a panel of judges comprising of accomplished individuals to review the submissions.
According to the competition’s website, the theme will emphasise environmental and sustainable awareness. He also said that the submission date is September 22, 2022.
Leramoh Abdulrazaq, Director of Administration and Finance, Education Secretariat, Federal Capital Territory, praised 9mobile for the initiative and pledged support for the contest’s success on behalf of Sani Dahir El-katuzu, Secretary for Education.
He underlined the need of enhancing students’ writing abilities and advised other companies to adopt a similar approach.
Johnson Abbaly, a member of the panel of judges who spoke on behalf of the others, said, “We have been fully briefed, and we will justify the trust placed in us by doing a thorough job that will be seen by all to be transparent and fair.”
How to Apply for 9mobile Essay Competition
All submissions will be sent online to firstname.lastname@example.org, and the top 10 submissions will be selected; the judges will then conduct a virtual engagement with the shortlisted candidates to allow the participants to defend their contributions. The winners will be announced on September 30, 2022, and their rewards will be delivered to them at the 9mobile regional office in Abuja.
