Yuletide: Anambra Police Command Releases Security Tips

As part of efforts to curtail security challenges and enhance public safety and peace in the state especially now that Christmas celebration is around the corner, the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command, CP Echeng Eworo has urged Ndi Anambra and residents alike to be guided by some security measures and tips.

 

According to a release signed on behalf of the commissioner by DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, resident of the state should report promptly any suspicious movement within one’s immediate environment to the nearest police station or call emergency number 112 or command control room number on 07039194332.

 

The measures included, to report promptly any missing vehicles to the nearest police station or call the emergency or control room numbers, 112 and 07039194332 respectively.

 

The release urged Parents and guardians to pay closer attention to activities of their children and wards.

 

It advised members of the public to desist from engaging in jungle justice and to exercise restraint always and endeavor to take any suspect apprehended to the nearest Police Station, as this would afford the Police the opportunity to conduct appropriate investigation and bring them to justice.

 

The release also stressed the need for residents of the state to obey the State Government’s directive on ban of tinted vehicles and covered plate number, and to report any Police infringement to the Command by calling the Commands control room number, 07039194332 or Public Complaints Bureau on 08039334002.

 

It directed all hotels to promptly submit their guest list daily to the nearest Divisional Police headquarters, while all proprietors of private and public hospitals should admit but promptly report anyone with bullet wounds or any related injuries to the nearest police station.

 

While reaffirming his commitment towards consolidating on the gains in crime prevention and restoration of law and order and improving safety and security of lives in the State, the CP assured that the Police, the Military and other Security Agencies are firm to contain any security situation that may arise and prevent threats to lives and property in the State.
