Yearly, the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS organizes carols and nine lessons to herald Christmas festive period, featuring other side attractions.
This year’s edition, held at the ABS corporate headquarters Awka, followed the tradition as millions of ABS audience were treated to soul lifting renditions, while others received awards for community services, agricultural sector development and creating job opportunities.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the ABS, Chief Dr. Uche Nworah, who described the Christmas fest as a ritual by which ABS staff, fans and audience come together to relish the yuletide, thanked the sponsors for the success of this year’s event.
He assured that ABS, having been repositioned for increased productivity, will continue to use its various platforms and branches to serve Ndi-Anambra and audiences across borders, and commended Governor Willie Obiano for his legacies in the station and other aspects of the state economy.

The National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Barrister Titus Akpudo, President General of Nkpor Development Union, Chief Innocent Mbagha, Dean, School of Information Studies, Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Onyeka Uwakwe, and popular “Prophet” Chukwuemeka Ohanemere, Odumeje, of Mountain of Holy Ghost Onitsha, commended ABS for mobilizing Ndi-Anambra for sustainable community development, and urged award recipients not to relent in giving back to the society.

Award recipients at the event, including Chief Emeka Agbanari, Chief Innocent Akuvue, Chief Azubuike Ekweozor, Mr. Chekwube Okafor and many others promised to sustain efforts for which they were recognized, even as they expressed belief that the incoming administration of Professor Soludo will consolidate on the gains of successive administrations in the state.

The Heartbeat Chorale of the ABS, St. Mark’s Choir Enugwu-Agidi, St. Patrick’s College Choir Awka, Royal Palace Choir Enugwu-Ukwu and the Royal Family Orchestra, were among the musical groups that performed at the event.
