World’s Sexiest Athlete’ Challenges Man City Star Erling Haaland to a Race After World Championships

Alica Schmidt, who holds the title of the ‘world’s sexiest athlete’, has issued a challenge to Manchester City’s star player, Erling Haaland, proposing a race between them.

Schmidt, a 24-year-old German athlete, gained attention not only for her athletic prowess but also for her modeling career.

With 4.3 million followers on Instagram and a spot on Forbes 30 Under 30 list, she has made a name for herself both on and off the track.

Haaland, the Norwegian football sensation, achieved remarkable success last season with 52 goals in 53 appearances across various competitions.

His exceptional speed, power, and acceleration, clocked at over 22.5mph, contributed significantly to Manchester City’s treble victory.

However, Schmidt believes she can outperform the explosive striker in her preferred event, the 400 meters race.

While she acknowledges that the 200 meters might pose a greater challenge, Schmidt remains confident in her abilities.

Her personal best time in the 400 meters event is 52.18 seconds, equivalent to an average speed of around 17mph.

When questioned by Norwegian outlet Dagbladet about her chances against Haaland, Schmidt responded, “Hmm, I don’t know – maybe.

I think, on 400m, yes.

On 200m, it would be more difficult.

But I would be happy if the race takes place.”

As for the timing of the race, Schmidt expressed her readiness and indicated that she would approach Haaland to discuss the possibility.

Schmidt’s prior experience in racing high-profile figures adds to her confidence.

Two years ago, she raced against 2014 World Cup winner and Borussia Dortmund center back Mats Hummels, winning comfortably.

Despite Hummels’ praise for her performance, it’s worth noting that he was 32 years old at the time and not known for his pace.

Comparatively, Haaland’s athleticism and speed present a more formidable challenge.

While Schmidt has been labeled the ‘world’s sexiest athlete’ by Australian magazine Busted Coverage in 2017, she herself isn’t particularly fond of the title.

In an interview with The Sun, she emphasized that true beauty comes from within, downplaying the significance of external judgments.

In terms of Haaland’s recent performance, he began the new season with a strong showing, scoring a brace against Burnley.

However, he struggled to make an impact in a narrow 1-0 victory over Newcastle.

Manchester City, led by manager Pep Guardiola, is set to face Sheffield United in their upcoming match.
