Religious teacher in Pattani shot dead

A religious teacher was fatally shot while riding a motorcycle on his way home early Sunday morning in Pattani, southern Thailand.
The incident took place at about 12:30 am (local time) today, and the teacher was a 52-year-old man attached to the Al-Islamiah Wittaya religious school.
Nong Chik District Police Chief, Pol Col Komkrit Srisong, said police found at least 10 bullet casings at the scene located not far from the victim’s house.
“The victim, who suffered injuries to the chest and abdomen, was rushed to the hospital, but was confirmed dead at the hospital,” he said when contacted.
Komkrit said police were speeding up the investigation into the motive of the incident and tracking down the suspect.
