Police say a woman was arrested after a car hit and injured five persons in an underground parking at Manukau Mall in South Auckland on Sunday afternoon.

A representative for St John confirmed that four persons were rushed to Middlemore Hospital, one in critical condition and three in serious condition.

According to the spokeswoman, another person was treated at the site for moderate injuries.

According to police, the 34-year-old lady has been charged with a driving-related offense and will stay in police custody until Monday’s appearance in Manukau District Court.

Further charges were likely, they added.

A manager, five ambulances and one rapid response unit were sent to the scene, the ambulance service said.
