Transfer conversations are heating up across England and Europe as clubs quietly reposition their squads ahead of the next phase of the season.
From Premier League strikers attracting hefty price tags to young defenders switching development paths, the market is already buzzing with movement, interest, and a few unexpected twists.
Wolves Open the Door to Jorgen Strand Larsen Exit
Wolves are prepared to listen to offers of around £40 million for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen as interest in the Norwegian forward continues to build.
Nottingham Forest are firmly in the mix, having already explored the possibility of a move.
Forest are not alone. Crystal Palace and West Ham have also tracked the 25-year-old, while Everton, Aston Villa, and Tottenham have all weighed up his profile at various points.
Despite the interest, some clubs remain cautious, unsure whether Larsen’s recent performances justify the price tag.
Newcastle United have also kept tabs on him.
Their scouts were present during Wolves’ recent clash with West Ham, and although the Magpies failed with a £55 million bid last summer, Larsen could return to their radar if Will Osula moves on.
West Ham, however, stepped back earlier this month, deciding Larsen was too expensive and instead committing £47 million to deals for Pablo Felipe and Taty Castellanos.
Forest Juggle Attacking Options After Chris Wood Setback
Nottingham Forest’s striker search has taken on added urgency following knee surgery for last season’s 20-goal hero Chris Wood.
The club has already allowed Arnaud Kalimuendo to move to Eintracht Frankfurt and has made enquiries about Napoli forward Lorenzo Lucca.
That potential deal carries its own subplot, with Napoli showing interest in Forest winger Dan Ndoye, hinting at a possible swap or parallel negotiations down the line.
Wolves Defender Hoever Headed Back Out on Loan
On the defensive front, Wolves full-back Ki-Jana Hoever is set for yet another temporary move.
The Dutch defender will join Sheffield United on loan until the end of the season, marking his fifth loan spell since arriving from Liverpool in 2020.
Tottenham Push Again for Young Santos Wing-Back
Tottenham have returned to the table with a fresh proposal for Santos left wing-back Souza.
Spurs’ revised offer is believed to be around £13 million, though Santos are still pushing for a higher fee and a sell-on clause for the highly rated 19-year-old.
Liverpool Strengthen Youth Ranks With Defensive Additions
Liverpool have quietly added more depth to their development setup by snapping up Burnley centre-back Noah Adekoya.
The 19-year-old signed his first professional contract last October and captained Burnley’s Under-18s to the Professional Development League North title last season.
Adekoya is no stranger to Anfield, having spent time on trial with Liverpool back in 2018.
He will join a growing development group that will also welcome Senegalese defender Mor Ndiaye and Austrian prospect Ifeanyi Ndukwe in the summer.
Burnley Shuffle Loans for Luca Koleosho
Burnley have opted to recall forward Luca Koleosho from his loan spell at Espanyol, where he managed just one start in the Spanish Cup.
The Clarets plan to send him straight back out, this time to Paris FC, for the remainder of the campaign.
Crystal Palace Target Reinforcements Amid Injury Woes
Crystal Palace are scanning the market for defensive reinforcements, with Genk right-back Zakaria El Ouahdi emerging as a £12 million target.
The Morocco international is being considered as cover following injuries to Daniel Muñoz and Nathaniel Clyne.
Palace are also keeping an eye on Manchester City defender Juma Bah, currently on loan at Nice, while they have already sanctioned a move in the opposite direction by loaning youngster Romain Esse to Coventry City for the rest of the season.
Ajax Add Manchester United Midfielder to January List
Ajax have added Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte to their shortlist of potential January targets.
The Uruguay international, who also has interest from Galatasaray, featured for United in their recent outing against Burnley.
Monaco Consider Leicester’s Soumare and Premier League Strikers
Monaco are exploring a possible move for Leicester City midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
The 26-year-old, who previously developed at Paris Saint-Germain before shining at Lille, is keen on a return to French football.
Alongside midfield reinforcements, Monaco are also hunting for a new striker and have been monitoring several options currently playing in the Premier League.
Brentford Chase Teenage Cameroon Prospect
Brentford are in discussions to sign highly rated 17-year-old centre-back Chris Pondy.
The left-sided defender, who turns 18 in March, represents Cameroon and impressed during the recent AFCON Under-17 Championships while playing for the Dauphine Academy.
Watford Explore Short-Term Deal for Edoardo Bove
Watford have held talks about a potential move for Roma midfielder Edoardo Bove, whose career took a dramatic turn following a cardiac arrest just over a year ago.
The 23-year-old collapsed during a match for Fiorentina against Inter Milan in December 2024.
Bove was later fitted with an implanted cardioverter defibrillator, similar to the device used by Christian Eriksen.
While this prevents him from playing in Serie A due to strict regulations, he is eligible to feature in England or the Netherlands.
Roma are currently working towards terminating his contract by mutual consent, which would make Bove a free agent.
Watford have been approached about offering him a short-term deal as he looks to restart his career.
West Ham’s Goalkeeper Search Faces Italian Competition
West Ham’s pursuit of Brazilian goalkeeper Bento is hanging in the balance, with Genoa emerging as serious rivals.
The Hammers have proposed a loan deal with an option to buy to Al Nassr, but Bento is understood to favour a move to Italy.
This comes at a tense time for West Ham, who are sliding down the Premier League table after a damaging defeat to Nottingham Forest.
That match saw goalkeeper Alphonse Areola concede a decisive penalty after clashing with Morgan Gibbs-White.
Genoa, despite sitting just above the relegation zone in Serie A, are increasingly confident they can persuade Bento to join their survival fight.
Salford Close in on Fleetwood Striker
Salford City are nearing the completion of a deal for Fleetwood Town forward Ryan Graydon.
The 26-year-old has scored three goals in 12 appearances this season, and Salford have agreed a £350,000 fee, with add-ons potentially pushing the total to £500,000.
The club is hopeful of finalising the transfer by Thursday.
Southampton Forward Heads to Hamburg
Southampton striker Damion Downs has joined Hamburg on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old USA international, born in Germany, moved to the Saints from Cologne for £7 million in July.
His most recent appearance for Southampton came as a late substitute in a 3–0 victory over Leicester City in late November.
Hamburg, currently 13th in the Bundesliga, are just four points clear of the relegation play-off zone as they look to stabilise their campaign.
What Could Come Next?
With clubs across Europe still juggling injuries, form concerns, and financial limits, the coming weeks promise more twists in an already lively transfer landscape.
Whether it’s marquee forwards, recovery stories, or teenage prospects, the market is far from settled.
