Wife of the Anambra State governor-elect, Mrs Nonye Soludo has said that she looks forward to playing a major complementary function in her husband’s administration by ensuring that adequate social structures are provided to protect vulnerable women and girls in the state.

Mrs Soludo who stated this in Awka while addressing a women group, noted that with the rising tide of gender-based violence plaguing the modern-day Nigerian society, strategic policies that are focused solely on the most vulnerable members of the society are needed to checkmate the plethora of challenges confronting especially women and the girl child.

While stating that she will initiate plans to cut down on some of the social setbacks affecting women and girls, Mrs Soludo observed that collective inputs are also needed to win the fight conclusively.

The governor-elect’s wife who reminded women, especially mothers that a lot is still expected of them, both in child raising and family development, stressed that an ideal Anambra State is everybody’s responsibility.

She also extolled the  wife of the governor of Anambra State, Dr Ebelechukwu Obiano, who she said through her charity organization, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFE, has offered practical actions to most of these social problems and invented a model for gender development and poverty alleviation.
