San Francisco-based product design and engineering firm Whipsaw has officially opened applications for the Spring 2026 cohort of The Workshop, its hands-on accelerator program for early-stage hardware startups.
The program promises to help founders transform ideas into investor-ready prototypes over a 10-week sprint.
A 10-Week Sprint from Concept to Prototype
The Workshop is designed to give founders intensive, practical support from Whipsaw’s senior teams in design, engineering, and product development.
Over the course of 10 weeks, participants will work side by side with experts to turn initial concepts into tangible prototypes, ready to impress investors and early partners.
Access to Top-Tier Design and Technical Expertise
Founders accepted into the program gain direct access to Whipsaw’s wide-ranging capabilities, including industrial design, technical strategy, prototyping, user experience, brand development, and storytelling.
By the end of the sprint, each startup emerges not just with a functional design prototype, but also a clear roadmap for production and the materials needed to raise funding.
Beyond the Prototype: Building Business Skills
The Workshop goes beyond design, offering coaching on go-to-market strategies, business model development, and investor relations.
Founders also receive skill-building support to strengthen their ability to pitch, scale, and manage their startups effectively.
The program culminates in a Hardware Demo Day, where startups present to hardware-focused angels, seed funds, and corporate innovation teams.
A Selective Cohort for Maximum Impact
Whipsaw plans to accept only six to seven startups for the Spring 2026 cohort, keeping the group small to ensure personalized guidance and maximum impact.
Applications for the program are open through January 19, 2026, giving interested founders a limited window to apply.
Opportunities for Early-Stage Hardware Founders
For hardware entrepreneurs looking to move quickly from concept to market-ready product, The Workshop offers an unmatched combination of design, technical, and business expertise.
With hands-on mentorship and a focus on investor readiness, the program provides a fast-track path to turning bold ideas into real-world solutions.
