If elected president, Vivek Ramaswamy will choose Elon Musk as an advisor and reiterates his desire for Donald Trump to serve as a “mentor.”

Vivek Ramaswamy, in his bid for the presidency, has expressed his intention to seek the advisory support of Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, Tesla, and SpaceX, as well as that of former President Donald Trump. Ramaswamy, aged 38, outlined his approach during a town hall event in Iowa shortly after the initial Republican debate. He highlighted his desire to learn from Trump’s foundation and potentially avoid repeating the same lessons, seeking mentorship from the former President. Ramaswamy also cited his growing connection with Elon Musk, viewing him as a potential advisor due to his decision to lay off a substantial portion of Twitter’s employees.

In his pursuit of the presidency, Ramaswamy, who has garnered attention for his clear communication and resilience against fellow candidates’ criticisms during the Republican debate, has positioned himself as an outsider with a unique ability to reach young Americans who might not traditionally engage in Republican politics. He emphasized a unifying approach to the America First agenda, transcending partisan divides.

Ramaswamy has openly discussed his interest in having Trump as a close advisor if he becomes president, aiming to build upon Trump’s actions and experiences. He acknowledged the need to address the administrative state and expressed his intention to implement mass layoffs within the federal government to counter its inefficiencies. He revealed his plans to draw insights from Musk’s experience in leading Twitter, indicating his desire to bring in fresh perspectives to guide him through uncharted territory.

While Ramaswamy and Musk engaged in a virtual conversation recently, Musk identified as a moderate voter and acknowledged differing views on climate change with Ramaswamy. Musk had also hosted a Twitter Spaces conversation with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as part of the Republican primary process.
