Lockdown has been imposed at Victoria’s Parliament House in Melbourne due to an alleged bomb threat.

Around 11.30 on Thursday, security was spotted around the Spring Street building, according to Sky News.

Police have arrived on the location and are blocking the building’s entrances.

It is believed that a threat was made over the phone.

The building’s interior development has completely ceased, and a planned press conference has been postponed.

An email to MPs said, “Dear members, we have alerted that there has been an alleged bomb threat to Parliament House.”

The message said, “At this time, the building is under lockdown, thus nobody can enter or depart the building.”

“The police are looking into it, and we’ll provide you an update as soon as we know more,” the statement goes.
