It’s not every day you see one of the world’s most famous footballers laid up in a hospital bed, but that’s exactly where David Beckham is right now.
The 50-year-old sports icon was recently photographed recovering from a mysterious injury, his arm strapped in a blue sling and a ‘get well soon’ bracelet on his wrist.
While he looked in good spirits, smiling for the camera, the reason behind his hospital visit remains under wraps.
Victoria Sends a Sweet Message to Her ‘Daddy’
David’s wife, Victoria Beckham, took to Instagram early Friday to share her support, posting a photo of her husband and writing simply: “Get well soon daddy.”
At 51, the fashion designer often uses the affectionate nickname ‘daddy’ when talking about David, especially when referencing him as the father of their four kids.
The photos showed David lounging in a hospital bed, his injured arm resting in a sling.
While he didn’t explain how it happened, fans were relieved to see that he was in good spirits and being well taken care of.
A Sentimental Shoutout to His Mum’s Birthday
Before the injury news surfaced, David had posted something much more upbeat.
On Thursday, he shared a heartfelt birthday tribute to his mother, Sandra, who turned 76.
The post included a series of old and new pictures of the two together, from childhood memories to recent family moments.
He captioned it: “Happy birthday mum we love you so much I hope u have the best day.
Thank you for always being there for us all. Love you.” David also tagged his sister Joanne and his three sons—Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz—in the post.
Since 13-year-old Harper doesn’t have Instagram, she got a sweet shoutout in the form of a hashtag.
The Brooklyn Beckham Rift Still Lingers
Interestingly, David made sure to include Brooklyn in the tribute post—despite ongoing rumors of a rift between them.
The tension reportedly stems from strained family dynamics following Brooklyn’s marriage to actress Nicola Peltz.
The couple currently lives in the U.S., and speculation around their distant relationship with the Beckhams has only grown in recent months.
While David didn’t comment on the issue directly, his public mention of Brooklyn’s Instagram handle in the family post seemed like a subtle attempt to include him—and maybe even bridge the gap.
