Vicky Pattison ditches BAFTA ceremony early and escapes London red carpet chaos for crisps and comfort in her hotel room

While most celebrities partied into the early hours at the BAFTA Television Awards last Sunday, Vicky Pattison had a very different kind of night planned — and it didn’t involve red carpets or flowing prosecco.

When the Glitz Fades and the Sweat Sets In

The Channel 4 presenter and Honesty Box host opened up on her podcast Get A Grip, which she co-hosts with Angela Scanlon, and revealed that she ducked out of the ceremony long before the credits rolled.

“Let’s just be real,” Vicky said, recalling the evening with total honesty.

“It’s always such a massive honor to be invited to the BAFTAs — you know, big telly lover and all that — but why is it always the hottest day of the year? It’s actually offensive.”

The Red Carpet Felt More Like The Hunger Games

Describing the pre-ceremony chaos, Vicky compared the press gauntlet to a scene out of The Hunger Games. “By 5 or 6 PM, I was wrecked,” she admitted.

“I’d powered through interviews, my feet were slipping in my heels from sweat, I wasn’t allowed to vape, and honestly, I was just over it.”

Four awards into the ceremony, she’d had enough. “My social battery was on zero.

I turned around and said, ‘I’m going.’” And go she did — straight back to the hotel.

From BAFTA to Tracksuit in Record Time

Back in the comfort of her room, Vicky ditched the glam in favor of full-on chill.

“I threw on my tracksuit bottoms, let my belly hang out, stopped breathing in for the first time all day, ate crisps, and just farted with my husband. Pure bliss.”

The Morning Mishap: When Knickers Are Shared

That same morning, things got unexpectedly intimate between Vicky and her podcast co-host Angela Scanlon during their getting-ready routine.

Angela confessed that she had to borrow Vicky’s underwear.

“Yep, she got in my knickers,” Vicky laughed. Angela reassured listeners, “They were fresh!” But the spontaneous undie-sharing meant Vicky had to go commando under her gown. “I hope you’re grateful,” she teased.

Rewearing the Dress With a Splash of Yellow

Vicky embraced BAFTA’s sustainable fashion push by recycling a very sentimental outfit — her £5,230 Vivienne Westwood wedding gown.

She had it dyed a soft buttercup yellow to fit the occasion and wore it with pride, saying she channeled her inner eco-princess.

“In my head, I thought, ‘People are gonna love this!’” she said.

“I was thinking Kate Middleton, not council estate Katy Perry, which is what I’ve been called before.”

Vicky hoped that by rewearing and revamping her gown, she’d earn some admiration for going green.

“I thought I’d get loads of column inches for being a ‘green queen,’” she joked.

But Then Stacey Solomon Showed Up

Just as Vicky was enjoying her sustainable style moment, Stacey Solomon rocked up in her own recycled bridalwear — and totally stole the spotlight.

“Stacey did it too — and no one’s talking about me anymore!” Vicky laughed.

“She went all out with hers, cutting it up, adding shorts, really putting her stamp on it.”

The Green Queen Still Reigns (Sort Of)

Despite the attention shifting elsewhere, Vicky remains proud of her BAFTA choices — from the reworked wedding dress to the early exit strategy.

After all, what’s more iconic than choosing snacks and sweatpants over small talk and stilettos?
