Willie le Roux’s much-anticipated milestone of 100 Test caps with the Springboks will have to wait a little longer.
The 35-year-old fullback is just two appearances shy of the prestigious mark, having earned 98 caps in his career so far.
His journey to becoming the eighth South African player to reach 100 Tests is ongoing, with the fullback needing to make a few more appearances to join this exclusive club.
A Brief Pause in His Journey
Le Roux’s name was missing from the squad announced for the upcoming match against England at Twickenham, a game that will see Aphelele Fassi take his place at fullback.
Having played the full 80 minutes in the victory over Scotland, Le Roux was hoping to feature in both remaining end-of-year tour matches to hit the 100-Test milestone.
With his omission from the England squad, his wait will extend until at least mid-2025 to achieve this personal achievement.
