If you’ve ever dreamed of turning your research or creative idea into something the world can use, the University of Lagos has just opened the door.
UNILAG is officially launching the first-ever Technology Transfer Ambassador Program (TTAP 2025) — and it’s a big deal for students, researchers, and faculty members with a passion for innovation.
Open to All: Students, Researchers, and Faculty Welcome
The program, announced by the university’s Innovation and Technology Management Office (ITMO), is open to everyone within the UNILAG community — whether you’re an undergraduate, a postgraduate student, an early-career researcher, or a faculty member.
It’s a call to those eager to dive into the world of innovation, technology transfer, and commercialisation — essentially helping to bring great ideas out of the lab and into the real world.
What TTAP 2025 Is All About
At its core, TTAP 2025 is all about building real skills in areas like technology licensing, intellectual property rights, and innovation management.
Through a series of hands-on workshops, participants will get to learn directly from industry experts and academic leaders.
“This is a unique chance for innovators at UNILAG to gain real-world experience and drive impact through technology,” said a spokesperson from ITMO.
“We want to see students and faculty becoming champions of innovation in their departments.”
Leadership Meets Innovation
Those selected as ambassadors won’t just be learning — they’ll also be leading.
Each participant will take on a role as an Innovation Champion, responsible for organizing events, raising awareness about intellectual property, and hosting educational seminars across campus.
To recognize their efforts, ambassadors will receive certificates, stipends, and most importantly, ongoing mentorship from seasoned professionals in academia and the innovation industry.
Big Perks: Mentorship, Networking, and Real Exposure
One of the standout features of TTAP 2025 is the networking opportunity it offers.
Ambassadors will have access to UNILAG’s 14-university consortium, which connects them to a wider community of entrepreneurs, researchers, and tech transfer experts.
These relationships could open doors to future collaborations, internships, and even startup funding opportunities.
Ready to Be a Change-Maker?
TTAP 2025 is more than just a program — it’s a movement to empower the next generation of innovators within UNILAG and beyond.
Whether you’re developing cutting-edge research or just curious about how innovation really works, this could be the step that shapes your future.
