UAE, UK discuss parliamentary cooperation

LONDON, 14th February, 2022 – Dr.

Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee in the UAE Federal National Council, has met with Dr.

Liam Fox, a member of the British Parliament and Chair of UK Abraham Accords Group, at the British Parliament.

Several FNC members attended the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed joint parliamentary cooperation, the latest regional developments and many regional and global issues.

Dr.

Al Nuaimi said that the Abraham Accords reflect the UAE’s political pillars and its historical legacy of openness to all countries of the world according to its supreme strategic interests, and coexistence with various cultures and religions.

It is a part of the UAE’s principles of tolerance without abandoning its pillars and its original approach in adhering to national and Arab rights and Islamic law, in accordance with international legitimacy, the decisions and the rules of international law.

Dr.

Fox emphasised that the Abrahamic Accords are a step in the right direction and an essential pillar that one looks forward to building on regionally.
