What started as a glamorous night at an exclusive castle party has spiraled into a scandal shaking Norway’s royal circles.
Linni Meister, a well-known television personality in Norway, recently opened up about an incident she says turned her life upside down.
During an emotional podcast episode, she recounted the moment she learned she had allegedly been sexually assaulted—by none other than Marius Borg Høiby, the stepson of Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon.
Linni said she had no memory of the incident, which is said to have taken place in the basement of Skaugum Castle in 2018.
The alleged assault came to light only after police reportedly discovered video footage and images on Borg Høiby’s laptop.
An Emotional Revelation
Speaking on the podcast Puppen og Lillemor, which she co-hosts with her friend Mia Gundersen, Linni became visibly emotional as she criticized the way the case has been handled.
She described feeling betrayed and hurt, not just by the alleged assault, but by what she sees as the indifference that followed.
“He’s out partying like nothing happened while victims wait for justice,” she said, her voice cracking.
“It’s heartbreaking. The worst part isn’t even what happened that night—it’s everything that’s happened since.”
Linni explained that she initially questioned the authenticity of the evidence, even wondering if the footage could have been generated using artificial intelligence.
But she ultimately confirmed the allegations publicly on Snapchat earlier this year, stating plainly, “It’s true.”
A Pattern of Allegations
Marius Borg Høiby, now 28, has faced mounting legal trouble since his first arrest in August.
He’s been charged with two rapes and is under investigation for three more incidents, as well as several other offenses ranging from threats and physical assault to reckless driving and drug-related charges.
He denies most of the accusations but has admitted to some acts of violence and substance abuse.
Just recently, a fifth woman came forward with a new allegation.
This case reportedly involves a different kind of sexual offense—one without intercourse—and took place after Borg Høiby had already been released from custody following an earlier assault charge.

His new lawyer, Ellen Holager Andenæs, declined to comment on social media statements or ongoing media coverage, urging the press to avoid further speculation.

“If we’re going to have a monarchy, we have to be able to trust the people connected to it,” she said.
“He’s not showing any responsibility, not even for his own health. Instead, he’s jet-setting and partying like he’s above it all.”

It’s important to note that Marius is not officially part of the Norwegian royal line of succession.
He is the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit from a previous relationship and was four years old when she married Crown Prince Haakon.

According to reports, the so-called “Skaugum Festivals” hosted by Borg Høiby attracted questionable guests, including individuals linked to motorcycle gangs.
One such party allegedly ended with a burglary at the royal residence, where stolen items like silverware were later found at an auction house.
Substance Abuse, Mental Health, and an Attempted Apology
In a rare public statement, Borg Høiby admitted to attacking his then-girlfriend, Rebecca Helberg Arntsen—an incident that led to his first arrest in August.
He attributed his actions to long-standing mental health issues and substance abuse problems, citing the influence of alcohol and cocaine during the assault.
“I want to take responsibility,” he said.
“I’ve struggled with addiction for a long time. My diagnoses and drug use don’t excuse what happened, but I want to be honest.”
He also issued an apology to his family, acknowledging the emotional burden his actions have caused them.
