TS Galaxy Ends Winless Streak with Impressive 3-1 Victory Over Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium

TS Galaxy finally found their winning touch after a frustrating start to the season, defeating Sekhukhune United 3-1 in a thrilling match on Tuesday night.

This victory marked their first three points of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season, as they triumphed at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo.

The Rockets were propelled to victory thanks to an own goal by Sekhukhune’s Tresor Yamba Yamba, a clinical strike from Victor Letsoalo, and a second-half goal by Dženan Zajmović.

Although Sekhukhune managed to pull one back in the dying moments of the match with a goal from Lesedi Kapinga, Galaxy had already sealed the win.

Prior to this match, Galaxy had failed to secure a win in their first six league games, earning just two points and struggling to find form.

The team also had a difficult run in other competitions, crashing out of the 2024 MTN8 in the first round and missing out on the Carling Knockout Cup after a 1-0 loss to Magesi FC in the semi-finals earlier this month.

The disappointing start led to a surprising shake-up in the team, with head coach Sead Ramovic resigning from his position.

Ramovic quickly found a new job, taking over as the head coach of Young Africans SC.

SuperSport United’s Winless Run Continues

Meanwhile, SuperSport United’s struggles continued as they played to a goalless draw against Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The stalemate means Matsatsantsa A Pitori have now gone five matches without a win in the league, with their last victory coming on September 25th against TS Galaxy.

SuperSport’s inconsistency has also shown in their cup performances, as they were eliminated from the Carling Cup after a heavy 4-0 loss to Kaizer Chiefs.

Sitting in seventh place on the league standings with just nine points from eight matches, SuperSport will be hoping to turn things around soon to avoid falling further behind in the race for the top spots.

Golden Arrows Edge Out Royal AM in Thrilling Comeback

In another exciting encounter on Tuesday night, Golden Arrows fought back from behind to defeat Royal AM 3-2 at Harry Gwala Stadium.

The match had to be delayed to a 21:00 kickoff after Abafana Bes’thende were delayed due to heavy traffic.

Despite the late start, Arrows managed to secure a hard-fought win, keeping their momentum alive in the league.

What’s next? The teams will be looking to build on their performances as the season progresses.

For Galaxy, the win will hopefully mark the start of a more successful run, while SuperSport will need to improve to get back on track.
