Trevor Noah says that BTS’s required military duty will make South Korea’s army unstoppable

Monday night late-night talk show presenter Trevor Noah quipped that the South Korean military will be “unstoppable” once the members of the K-Pop band BTS enroll.

Earlier that day, BTS’ agency, Hybe, revealed that the septet would be performing their required military service. Hybe announced on Twitter that the group’s eldest member, Jin, who will turn 30 in December, will enlist in the following months. In time, the group’s other members will follow him.

Noah responded, “That’s wonderful news for South Korea.” Because their army is now essentially unstoppable.

Noah remarked, “No army in the world is going to take a shot at these men.” “Are you kidding me? Who will be foolish enough to take a shot? Everyone loves it!”

“Enemy soldiers are going to be like, ‘Ah! Jin has just stabbed me! This is the greatest and final day of my life.” Noah added.

At the age of 30, all able-bodied men in South Korea are required to enlist in the military for two years. Exceptions are made for medal-winning competitors in tournaments such as the Olympics. This year, Korean officials debated whether the seven Grammy-nominated musicians, who generate billions of dollars for the South Korean economy, should be spared.

On Saturday, BTS performed their final concert before enlisting in the military. In 2025, when all seven members would have served in the military, Hybe alluded to a reunion.
