Tom Brady, now a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, is dealing with a rough start to his new role.

The team made a big shake-up this week, firing offensive coordinator Chip Kelly after just eleven games at the helm.

Sources say Brady had been a strong supporter of bringing Kelly to the Raiders, making this decision a high-profile stumble for the football legend in his ownership role.

Chip Kelly’s Short-Lived NFL Return

Kelly’s coaching resume includes collegiate glory, most notably taking Oregon to the BCS National Championship game.

But his track record in the NFL has been less impressive.

Previous stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers failed to yield success, and his return to college football at UCLA from 2018 to 2023 seemed to rebuild his reputation.

Still, his tenure with the Raiders ended abruptly after a rough stretch that culminated in a loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Frustrations Beyond the Playbook

Insider Dianna Russini reported that Brady’s disappointment stretches beyond just the offensive struggles.

“I’m told Tom Brady was a big advocate for bringing in Chip Kelly to run the Raiders’ offense, and has shared with some people close to him his disappointment in the team’s overall performance,” she said.

Russini added that Brady’s frustrations touch multiple aspects of the team, not just the offense.

Raiders’ Offensive Struggles This Season

The numbers tell a stark story. Las Vegas currently ranks third-worst in total yards per game and second-worst in points per game.

The offense has struggled to find rhythm, and the team’s record reflects those challenges, sitting at 2-9 midway through the season.

Looking Ahead: Raiders vs. Chargers

The Raiders are set to face the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend, and the team will need to find answers fast.

With Brady now navigating the complexities of ownership, all eyes will be on how the team responds in the coming games, both on and off the field.
