Among the topics to be discussed are reports from the 50th Ordinary Session of the Mediation and Security Council (MSC) concerning security challenges within member nations.
Additionally, there will be a report from the 90th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers, which will cover the group’s financial situation and the progress made in implementing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Another significant matter to be covered is the state of political transition in the Republics of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Guinea.
Focus Areas of the Summit
The summit agenda will also feature discussions on the ECOWAS Single Currency Programme.
This initiative aims to facilitate economic integration among member states by establishing a common currency.
Furthermore, the attendees will receive a report on the obstacles hindering the free movement of goods along the Abidjan-Lagos corridor.
