While the shock of four Ogun teenagers murdering Sofiat Kehinde for rituals has worn off, another suspected ritualist was apprehended in Ondo State carrying human parts.
Timothy Odeniyi, a 35-year-old suspect, was detained in an Ondo town vehicle park while transferring human parts to Lagos by members of the Ondo state security organization dubbed Amotekun.
“They Promised To Deliver The Human Parts For N30m”
Odeniyi, who used to be a truck driver confessed that his former boss promised him N30m to procure and deliver human parts to a buyer in Lagos.
In his confession, while being interrogated, the suspect claimed his former boss in Ibadan introduced him to the business of making money through rituals.
The suspect claims he went to the burial ground to cut the legs and hands of one of the corpses buried there.
“Before I was caught, I had planned to take the human parts to the person that sent me in Lagos. He promised to pay me N30 million once I deliver the items,” he said.
So he went to the burial ground in the Sabo area of Ondo town to cut the parts.
“I didn’t kill anybody and this is my first time. I used to be a trailer driver.”
He said previously when he gets the body parts, he would dump them in a waste bin and the boss would send those someone to pick it.
Meanwhile, the state commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye dismissed his confession.
He said the suspect killed the victim, removed the human parts, and hurriedly buried the corpse.
He further warned the public to be very careful since ritual killing seems to be the trend nowadays.
“We have a suspect in our custody, Timothy Odeniyi who was caught and arrested with legs and hands of a human being wrapped in paper.
“Upon interrogation, he took us to where he severed the body of the person killed and hurriedly buried the person in a shallow grave. He was arrested in Ondo town.
“We want to warn the public to be careful of who they go out with. We have a number of them that we are still investigating that will go out with their girlfriends solely for the purpose of killing them for ritual purposes. I think the public should be wary and careful about this,” he said.

In a similar vein, three suspected ritualists were arrested by members of the Oyo state Amotekun Corps for their alleged involvement in the killing of a 73-year-old man.
The suspects — Ismail Muraina, Abdlerasheed Olanrewaju, Olalekan Akande — who connived to kill one Adeniyi Adebisi Samuel, 73, for ritual purposes, were arrested following intelligence reports from the members of the public.
They were paraded at the Oyo Amotekun Corps Headquarters Dandaro Ibadan, on Tuesday, September 21.
One of the suspects, Ismail Muraina explained that he charmed the victim because he saw him as unstable.
He confirmed that they kidnapped him along Amuloko-Akanran road, slaughtered him, and removed his head.
He further revealed that they were involved in the trade of human body parts and they sold human heads based on the size and amount available in the hand of their customers.
The State Deputy Commandant of Amotekun, Kazeem Akinro, in a statement, said the suspects specialized in selling human parts to ritualists who are in need of them, and they usually sell it between N4,000 and N100,000.

We started the investigation and we arrested the first suspect in his house who later took us to the other suspects.
The suspects confirmed that they kidnapped a man along Amuloko-Akanran road, slaughtered him, and removed his head.
The head was then given to one Abdulrasheed Olanrewaju who needs it for rituals.
We apprehended Abdulrasheed but he had already burnt the head into ashes,” he said.
