Viewers of The River are not convinced Lindiwe killed Mabutho in last night’s episode because season five of the telenovela began with a flashforward of Mabutho and Nomonde’s lavish wedding.

Lindiwe also defended Mabutho (Thembinkosi Mthembu) in the flashforward when Zweli attempted to kill him after he found out that he betrayed the Dikanas.

The River viewers are wondering if Mabutho and Nomonde’s (Linda Mtoba) wedding was a dream after Lindiwe pushed him to jump down a rocky mountain.

Fans are hoping that he didn’t get killed as they’re looking forward to his wedding to Nomonde – who he’s been crazy about since season four.

The pair are set to become the fifth couple to get married in The River according to the season five flashforward.

Though some viewers are convinced Mabutho didn’t get killed by Lindiwe last night (18 May) because of the flashforward, others are skeptical as he appeared dead after falling down a rocky mountain.

The season five teasers also showed fan-favourite character Zweli Dikana (Hlomla Dandala) getting knocked out by Mabutho in the bathroom and bleeding afterward, which could mean that Mabutho killed him.

WHY LINDIWE ATTACKED HIM

Lindiwe (Sindi Dlathu) found out that Mabutho has been stealing diamonds from her mine and set a trap for him.

She then pretended to offer a job at another mine in another country and offered him a ride to the airport.

Lindiwe stopped the car on the way to the airport and told him to get out of the car, take a walk with her to the mountain where she pointed a gun at him and forced him to jump.

OTHER STORYLINES IN THE ‘RIVER’

Emma attempted to end her life after confessing to drinking and driving the night her daughter died in a car accident.

Zolani (Lawrence Maleka) and the rest of the Dikanas couldn’t forgive her for Mbali’s death and blamed her.

Baby Mbali’s death might mean the end of Zolani and Emma’s (Lunathi Mampofu) marriage if Zolani can’t forgive her.
