Jay Blades, well-known for hosting the BBC hit show The Repair Shop, has found himself in the spotlight for a reason he likely never anticipated.
The 54-year-old has been accused of engaging in controlling and coercive behavior toward his wife, Lisa-Marie Zbozen. Blades, however, has firmly denied these allegations.
Court Appearance and Plea
Appearing before Worcester Crown Court, Blades entered a not guilty plea to the charge.
The court was told that the alleged behavior occurred within an intimate or family relationship between January 1, 2023, and September 12 of the same year.
Zbozen, a fitness instructor, publicly announced the end of their relationship on Instagram back in May.
Despite the announcement, the legal process has continued, with Blades facing the charge head-on.
A Reserved Courtroom Moment
During his appearance in front of Judge James Burbidge KC, Blades was composed.
Dressed in a dark suit and tie, he spoke only to confirm his identity and to enter his plea.
This isn’t the first time Blades has appeared in relation to the charge, as he had been in Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court just a few weeks earlier, on September 13.
What’s Next for Jay Blades?
With his next court appearance scheduled, Blades has been released on bail.
What lies ahead for the TV star remains uncertain, but the case will surely continue to capture public attention as it unfolds.
