South African Football Association (SAFA) president Danny Jordaan has disclosed the bonus amounts that Bafana Bafana players will receive if they emerge victorious in the Afcon tournament.

Currently in a training camp in Stellenbosch, the team is gearing up for their departure to Ivory Coast.

As part of their preparations, they are set to play Lesotho behind closed doors on Wednesday, 10 January.

Players and SAFA Leaders Finalize Bonus Arrangements

Prior to the team’s departure for the continental competition, key representatives from both the players and SAFA leadership, including Captain Ronwen Williams, Percy Tau, Siyanda Xulu, Veli Mothwa, Themba Zwane, President Jordaan, Vice President Bennett Bailey, CEO Lydia Monyepao, and HOD David Molwantwa, convened to finalize bonus-related matters.

Clearing the Path for Concentration on Football

In a video shared on SAFA platforms, President Jordaan expressed the importance of ensuring that all aspects are addressed, leaving no outstanding issues for the players.

He emphasized the need for the team to focus solely on football and deliver performances that captivate the nation.

Jordaan outlined the bonus structure, stating that if Bafana Bafana secures victory, they will be rewarded with R7 million.

Conversely, in the event of a loss, the players will receive no bonuses.

The president emphasized the importance of maintaining focus, stressing that the team’s preparation time should not be consumed by unnecessary discussions.

Afcon Journey Begins for Bafana Bafana

Bafana Bafana is scheduled to kick off their Afcon campaign on Tuesday, 16 January, facing Mali.

Subsequent matches against Namibia on Sunday, 21 January, and the conclusion of their Group E campaign on 24 January will take place at Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo.

The team’s ultimate goal is to showcase their abilities and secure a successful run in the tournament.
