Repeat Offender Katie Price Dodges Prison Over Driving Infractions, Faces £880 Fine for Unlawful Road Use

Former glamour model Katie Price, 45, has once again avoided imprisonment despite being found guilty of driving offenses, leading to an £880 fine.

The CCTV footage captured Price driving a Range Rover into a petrol station on the A14 bypass in Kettering, Northamptonshire, last August without a valid driving license or insurance.

Outrage from Road Safety Campaigners

The lenient penalty has stirred outrage among road safety campaigners, with concerns raised about Price’s repeated disregard for driving laws.

Bankrupt and previously banned from driving for two years due to a 2021 incident, Price continues to accumulate driving offenses, prompting calls for stricter consequences.

Campaign Against Drink Driving Calls for Custodial Sentence

John Scruby, from the Campaign Against Drink Driving, expressed frustration, emphasizing the urgent need for harsher punishment for Price.

Scruby believes that only a custodial sentence will deter her from repeatedly violating road regulations, given her history of multiple driving bans.

Magistrates Find Price Guilty in Absence

Magistrates in Northampton found Price guilty in her absence after she failed to appear in court. CCTV footage presented during the trial showed Price, wearing black slippers, exiting the driver’s side of her car at the petrol station.

This latest conviction adds to a series of driving offenses, including a two-year ban in 2021.

Fine and Additional Costs Imposed

The court imposed an £880 fine on Price for the driving offenses, along with additional costs totaling £620 and a £352 victim surcharge.

The 45-year-old model, residing in Dial Post near Horsham, West Sussex, was given 28 days to pay the total amount of £1,852 related to the A14 incident on August 2, 2023.

Previous Driving Bans and Penalties

Price’s history includes numerous convictions for motoring offenses, with a suspended jail sentence for drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance in 2021.

Despite accumulating eight penalty points during her latest hearing, Price’s license, deemed “expired” due to a medical stop, now faces potential revocation.

CCTV Footage Triggers Criminal Proceedings

Price was caught driving without a license or insurance when recognized by a police officer at an M&S petrol station.

Although she was not witnessed driving, officers reviewed CCTV footage, leading to criminal proceedings. Price, leaving the station in the Range Rover with an unknown male driving, was later found guilty despite her absence in court.

High Court Decision Impacts Price’s Finances

The recent court hearing occurred shortly after a High Court ruling reducing nearly half of Price’s monthly income from OnlyFans for the next three years.

Declared bankrupt in 2019, Price faced financial consequences for failing to fulfill a voluntary agreement over her debts, impacting her income from various sources.

Katie Price’s Repeated Driving Offenses

Price’s long history of driving offenses spans 15 years, resulting in six driving bans. From speeding and mobile phone use to failing to provide information and drink-driving, Price has faced various penalties.

Despite avoiding jail due to legal mechanisms, concerns persist about her ongoing disregard for road safety laws.
