On Friday, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials conducted a secondary inspection on a 2016 Stoughton trailer at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge near Laredo and discovered the cocaine.

After utilizing sniffer dogs and a non-intrusive screening technique, they discovered 1,935 containers containing 1,532.65 pounds of alleged cocaine within the shipment.

Randy Howe, director of field operations for the CBP’s Laredo field office, told Fox News that the seizure broke all previous records.

Special agents from US Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) are examining a haul believed to have a street value of $11,818,400.

‘Officers assigned to CBP cargo facilities guarantee efficient border security by preventing and combating the entry of narcotics,’ he added.
