At the National Television Awards on Wednesday, Davina McCall was seen visibly moved as she paid heartfelt tribute to her boyfriend, Michael Douglas.

The 56-year-old TV presenter was awarded the Special Recognition Award, celebrating her significant contributions to television over the years.

A Touching Moment

The ceremony took a poignant turn when a montage featuring praise from familiar faces like Dermot O’Leary, Alison Hammond, and Claudia Winkleman played on screen.

Davina, clearly touched, shared a passionate kiss with Michael before heading to the stage to accept her award from Hannah Waddingham.

Heartfelt Words and Humor

During her acceptance speech, Davina addressed her boyfriend with a playful twist, referring to him as “Michael Douglas” and adding, “the younger one, not the older one,” a nod to the Hollywood actor of the same name.

She expressed how Michael had made her “a better person” as she gazed lovingly at him.

She continued, “Thank you so much, this means so much.

I can’t even begin to tell you, I don’t even know where to start.” With a touch of humor, she added, “I love my job, I feel so privileged to share it with you.

Celebrating a Milestone

Davina joined an esteemed group of stars who have previously received the Special Recognition Award, including Sarah Lancashire, Lenny Henry, and Graham Norton.

Love and Future Plans

In a recent interview, Davina discussed her relationship with Michael, a celebrity hairdresser.

The couple, who have been together for five years, have no plans to marry.

Davina, who has been married before, shared that they are both content with their current situation and feel no need to make things official.

“That’s not even on the table,” she said. “We just feel like we are happy, let’s not rock the boat.”

She further explained, “I knew Michael for so many years before we got together that there were no questions like that. I know him. It was easy.”

Closing her discussion on their private life, she added, “I love Michael.

I always feel like it’s too precious to talk about in public. I just want to keep it for me.”

A New Chapter Together

Davina and Michael first met years ago when he styled her hair during her Big Brother days.

Last January, Davina revealed they had moved in together and were starting new traditions.

The couple celebrated this new chapter by watching “The King’s Speech” with Davina’s sister, Rebecca, before Christmas 2022.
