On Friday, a student was stabbed to death by another teen outside a Pinetown school.
Paramedics were called to the scene on Friday afternoon, according to Emer-G-Med spokeswoman Kyle van Reenen.
“Paramedics were dispatched to a stabbing outside a school in the Ashley neighborhood of Pinetown, west of Durban.
“When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a fifteen-year-old boy who had been stabbed in the abdomen. He was in a life-threatening situation.”
Van Reenen said Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilize the teenager before he was placed onto a mechanical ventilator to assist him in breathing.
“The boy was transported rapidly by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further care.

According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, the teenager died after being rushed to hospital.
A case of murder is being investigated by Pinetown SAPS.
“It is alleged that on 4 March 2022 at approximately 14: 45, a 16-year-old boy had an altercation with a 15-year-old boy in 5th Avenue, Ashley, Pinetown.
“The 16-year-old allegedly stabbed the 15-year-old in the stomach once after having a verbal altercation,” Gwala said.
The injured teenager collapsed. He was rushed to hospital but unfortunately died.
“The 16-year-old was arrested and is in police custody. The knife used was seized by police. He will appear in court next week,” Gwala said.
