Teenager apprehended after he jumped a barrier at Mexico airport and ran into airplane landing gear

A teenager has been apprehended by Mexico City police for breaching security at Mexico City International Airport and gaining access to the landing gear of a plane that was preparing for takeoff.

The individual, identified as César, managed to climb over a chain-linked fence and was observed running across the airport tarmac towards a parked Volaris Airlines aircraft on a Sunday afternoon. Authorities revealed that César appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance when he climbed inside the landing gear area of the plane.

In an attempt to coax César out of the aircraft, a security guard offered him a soft drink can, although it remains unclear whether this was the teen’s request in exchange for leaving the landing gear area. César accepted the can and took a sip before deciding to exit the landing gear area. However, due to safety concerns, security personnel and law enforcement requested that he wait for a ladder to ensure his safe descent.

An airport worker eventually provided a ladder, and César cautiously climbed down, where he was promptly apprehended by a soldier and escorted away. The Mexico City International Airport issued a statement, indicating that César is being investigated for jeopardizing the safety of passengers and himself, expressing gratitude for the timely response that prevented a potentially more severe incident.
